Andrew Chen is an editorial and runway hairstylist based between New York City and Los Angeles. Raised in Southern California within a family steeped in floral craft, Andrew developed an early eye for organic architecture, balance, and botanical form. A formative journey through Japan crystallized his focus on hair, inspiring an approach centered on natural texture, movement, and emphasizing wabi-sabi and kintsugi—elevating each subject’s individuality rather than masking it.
Pairing creative intuition with a background in business and a master’s in environmental sustainability, he brings thoughtful discipline and an eco-conscious reverence for nature to his craft. Today, Andrew regularly works backstage during fashion weeks across New York, Paris, and Milan, collaborating with creative teams across runway shows, red carpets, and global editorial campaigns.
Andrew’s work has appeared in leading publications including Vogue, ELLE, GQ, and Harper’s Bazaar, alongside collaborations with talent such as Uma Thurman, Nicole Scherzinger, Edie Falco, Olivia Palermo, Jemima Kirke, Ali Larter, and Ashtin Earle.
